BROAD HORIZONS AND BOLD OPPORTUNITIES

we are passionately pursuing a Number of Projects

Below is a sample of some of our current and past projects. We are always looking for new ways that LEDA can spur sustainable economic growth in the Lander community and encourage input - please reach out!

  1. 1/2 CENT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TAX

Not only does LEDA help administer the Lander Investment for the Future (LIFT) committee, who is responsible for scoring applications for this program, LEDA also supports the continued community support for this tax.

Whether it’s economic growth, community development, or enhanced transportation, the half-cent tax actively works to better the quality of life for all. By investing in the resources and businesses around us, we let the people here know they matter. Their ability to live a quality life matters. This tax stays home in our county, with the people who need it, empowering opportunities and equitability for all Fremont County residents.

  2. Lander community Review

In partnership with the Lander Chamber of Commerce, the LOR Foundation, and the Lander Community Foundation, LEDA is working with the Wyoming Business Council in order to bring the Community Review Program to Lander. This program provides robust opportunity for community involvement in defining and implementing solutions to the barriers to economic development in our community.

  3. Enterprise Park

LEDA currently holds the lease on four shovel ready properties in Enterprise Park. In addition to managing the lease with Union (which is already established on this property), LEDA is excited to work with new and existing businesses for expanded potential in the business park. In addition to the four current properties, LEDA has access to 17 more acres in the area to expand the park as necessary.

  4. Wyoming Outdoor Weekend and Expo or WOW

LEDA and the Lander Game and Fish Office co-host the WOW Weekend. This is an annual special outdoor equipment show, and a memorable experience for attendees featuring top brands, experts, and multiple fun, outdoor field trips for the family that drives primary dollars and visitors to our community. .

  5. Maintaining a vibrant online presence

Extending our outreach beyond Lander's geographic boundaries.

Other important LEDA projects and priorities

1. Riverton airport service

LEDA recognizes that reliable, consistent air service is a critical component of economic development. Quality air service connects the joys of rural living with the business world.

2. Broadband Fiberoptic Services

Working with national telecommunication companies to install a redundant fiberoptic line, which will encourage competitive pricing and promote e-business development.

LEDA in conjuction with our partners Union Wireless, and the State of Wyoming have secured a lease agreement for a new fiber hub in Lander, which will provide redundant fiber to our community. LEDA would like to thank Atlantic City Federal Credit Union, Central Bank and Trust, First Interstate Bank, and Wyoming Community Bank for their generous donation. County10.com

3. Maven Headquarters - Wyoming Business Readiness Community Grant and Loan Program

LEDA partnered with the City of Lander for a Wyoming Business Council Business Committed Community Grant and Loan application to build the new Maven Headquarters in Lander, WY. Through this program, Lander was able to retain a growing business, as well as create an anchor tenant to Enterprise Park. In addition, over the course of the lease that Maven will pay to the City, the City of Lander will retain $2.2M to use towards future economic development projects in the Lander community.

The LEDA board meets monthly to discuss these projects and to evaluate others that meet our mission statement and vision.
